A welcome dance
True to form the J1s at the ICS induction were given a warm welcome in the form of a dance by the J2 comm members. It was a brilliant gesture.
ICS Induction for J1
The turn out for the J1 induction was healthy and the J2 committee provided home-made sweets and cakes for the juniors.
The J1s were given an over view of the main areas of the ICS comm. CIP (Project Uthavi), Tamil Literary Competitions, Indian Orchestra, the Newsletter (Palmyra) and Events.
The Chairman
Ramana sharing Project Uthavi with the J1s. This project stems from his and several other committee members visit to a tsunami swept region in India. They were there in December 05. He has often mentioned how some of the children he met had no slippers to walk on rock strewn paths. One of the main agenda this year is this project. Anyone interested please raise your hand.
The ICS board and some CIP info
One of the things you will see on the ICS board is the CIP section. We are in the midst of planning for both local and overseas CIP projects.
Overseas CIP
Project Uthavi - currently we are planning for this overseas CIP and the possibility of a longterm sustainable project headed by our Chairman himself.
Local CIP
SINDA - we have a couple of tutors in the SINDA scheme and hope to recruit more
students interested can approach any of the committee members (IC is Kannan)
The “Future King and Queen”
An excellent and captivating interpretive dance and fashion item by two of our members. It was artfully done and we all enjoyed the most nuanced dance movements by the two. Well done!
